Hotel industry is the pillar of tourism as well as important infrastructure for social economic development. It reflects directly the city investment environment and civilization degree. Furthermore, it is the city’s “window” industry. Guang Zhou Hotels Association was founded in May, 1988. Through 18-year development, the main reception hotels in Guangzhou have become its members. This association applies executive association president system in its organization structure. The legal person or its trustee of membership hotel serves as association president (a term of four years)and executive association president (take turns every year). They are voted directly by director units, and they are all present general managers in famous high-star hotels who always march at the head of this industry. They lead the association to develop closely to the growth of hotel industry, and serve for the members wholeheartedly. The hotels association takes full advantage of its leadership in this industry to transmit the voices of the enterprises to the government and provide decision-making basis and policy suggestion to the government on behalf of the industry. At the same time, the association assists the department responsible for the work to do the industry internal management, for example, to participate in Guangzhou hotels star evaluating and reexamining work. Among its own industry, the association holds regularly varieties of lectures, seminars and exchange meetings and so on. It also gives trainings and organizes investigations for those colleagues in or out of the boundary, aiming at improving the whole management and service in Guangzhou hotel industry. And the association has its own journal and website. It is not only the platform for membership units to exchange, but also the window for people from all walks of life to know the hotel industry in Guangzhou. The association will continue to strive for the legitimate rights and interests for this industry, promote its development, create a good management environment. All in all, it will make its greatest contribution.
